MiParis Music is a newly formed Gospel, Inspirational and Jazz record label, that was created in 2012, by singer, songwriter and producer Michael Upshaw. The label and studio is based in Elkins Park Pennsylvania.

Michael Upshaw landed his first engagement singing with renowned jazz legends Don Paterson, Hank Mobley, Charles Frambrough, Richard "Groove" Holmes, Bootsie Barnes and the late Bobby Durham, (drummer, Ella  Fitzgerald and Oscar Peterson).  His voice uniquely mixes sounds reminiscent of Teddy Pendergrass, Lou Rawls, Barry White and jazz legend Johnny Hartman.

Upshaw's notable highlights in his career are performing with and opening for many popular legendary artists from an array of musical genre's, Dorothy Norwood, Commission, Willie Neals and The Gospel Keynotes, Billy Paul, The Trammps, The Intruders, The Stylistics, The Dells, Major Harris, Barbara Mason, Betty Wright, Angela Winbush, SWV, Jean Carne and a list of other's.

Upshaw has always welcomed new and exciting career challenges, so when the opportunity was presented for him to take to the theater stage he seized the moment.  Upshaw's name appeared in the Playbill not once but on three separate occasions, including once for his role in the "Buddy Bolden Story" written by Tony Award winner Joseph A. Walker, and twice for his lead and singing role in "Essentially Ellington" at the Harold Prince Theater in Philadelphia, PA.

Upshaw has lent his vocals as a featured artist and background vocalist on more than 40 recording projects internationally. Upshaw stepped front and center early 2015 with the MiParis Music release of the gospel classic "My Soul Has Been Anchored In The Lord" - featuring his friend Grammy Nominated saxophonist Gerald Albright, on his new cd, "Steadfast. He also had the pleasure of co-writing with one of the most sought after Producers and Multi Grammy Nominated Producers, Chris "Big Dog" Davis,on selections, "He'll Bring Us Through'" "Soul Say's Yes'" and a beautiful praise and worship song that features phenomenal vocalist, Dawn Tallman entitled."Lord I Love You."

To his numerous credits, Michael has performed at various record conventions such as The Young Black Radio Coalition, The South East Music Conference and The Impact Convention. He was also one of many performers on Welcome America in Philadelphia, PA, in 1995 and 2019, and periodically served as the Anthemist for the National Basketball Association's Philadelphia 76ers for more than 2 years. 1997-1999.

In 1989, Michael gave his life to Christ. After accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour, there were challenges that came along the way. Even through the challenges, issues and situations that he faced, he was always reminded of scriptures that will never leave him, and are kept in his heart and on his mind daily.  Words that are a constant reminder of the love that God has for us. He in turn shares with others about the Lord and what He who holds all power, can only do in our lives, in hope that someone will ask the question,  "What must I do to be saved?" Michael's prayer is that all who listen to this CD will be blessed in some way.

Michael Upshaw has come full circle in his career with the release of his new EP Steadfast, released on MiParis Music July 17, 2015 worldwide.  Steadfast includes two classic gospel remakes,  My Soul Has Been Anchored In The Lord and Lord, Do It For Me as well as new gospel songs co-written by Upshaw and soon to become classics.  Be sure to catch him live when he comes to your town, and you will surely be blessed!
