The Testimony

I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior in my mid-twenties. Despite this commitment, I encountered many challenges and made poor choices that led me into a cycle of self-destruction. My life spiraled into a world dominated by alcohol, drugs, and parties. While it seemed as if the secular world was winning initially, we know that ultimately, Jesus reigns supreme.

In the years that followed, I faced profound emotional turmoil, including the heartbreaking loss of several loved ones. My grandmother, who was a guiding force in our family, departed this life in 1999 at the age of 94. Following her death, my mother passed away in July 2006 after divorcing my father, and tragically, just nine months later, my father died, two days after I celebrated his birthday on March 3, 2007.

Then, on April 16, 2019, at approximately 7:45 PM, while I was rehearsing for praise and worship, I received a text from my daughter, Spring, that simply read, "I have cancer." This moment was devastating, bringing forth a torrent of tears, and became one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life.

By the grace of God, she has since fully recovered and is thriving!

In 2022, following the separation from a relationship that  meant so much to me, I began to descend into depression, which led me to seek therapy for suicidal thoughts. During this difficult time, I turned to prayer, earnestly seeking God’s guidance as I struggled with feelings of isolation and despair.

In September 2025, I awoke around 3 AM with a melody resonating in my mind, along with the comforting assurance that "God is There." In that instant, God reminded me that He had been with me throughout my journey and would never leave me nor forsake me.

I feel compelled to share my testimony, believing it is vital for those who may feel disconnected from God due to their past decisions to know that they are not disqualified from having a relationship with Him.

I am truly blessed to serve in the music ministry at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Alyn E. Waller.

Remember: You are the one God seeks, for He deserves all the glory.

“that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

(Romans 10:9 KJV)
